The Student Mentors play a role in improving the overall experience for students studying at Curtin College. This includes planning, organizing, and running social and sporting activities for you. For details on upcoming activities and events, please visit the Curtin College Official Fan Page on Facebook.
The Student Mentors also represent the interest of students by raising issues in matters affecting student experience and well-being. Becoming a Student Mentor is an excellent opportunity for students to further develop skills in Mentorship, teamwork and time management, which are highly valued by employers.
To become a Student Mentor you must possess the above-mentioned skills and have a commitment to developing and improving the student experience at the College. Mentors are chosen at the end of each trimester for the following trimester. If you think you have what it takes, or would like more information on Student Mentor recruitment, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Student Mentors organise a range of activities from sports to trips around town to holiday parties. They run fundraisers for charities and other events such as study sessions for exams.
Not every event is run every term, but there is usually something on every week, so make sure you check the Curtin College Facebook Page and Twitter Feed regularly for updates! Current students can view the calendar of events here: What's On @ Curtin College
If you have ideas for events, or would like to get involved, email the Student Experience Officer David Missal, or talk to one of your Student Mentors.
Don't forget to follow the Curtin College Student Blog for stories from students about what it's like to live, study, work and play in Perth.
