Curtin University by the numbers

  • The University is ranked in the top one per cent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2022  and has risen to 193rd in the world in the QS World University Ranking 2023.
  • Curtin University climbed 14 places to a rank of 206th  in the world and remains 9th in Australia in the 2020-2021 University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP). 
  • The University also jumped 35 places in the 2019 CWTS Leiden Ranking and is now positioned at 284th in the world and 9th in Australia.
  • In the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2019, Curtin University features in 37 of the 54 subjects ranked, with seven subjects in the top 100 in the world. It is 2nd in the world for Mining & Mineral Engineering and is ranked in the top 10 in Australia for 24 subjects, the highest being 2nd for Mathematics and equal 2nd for Chemical Engineering.
  • Curtin University’s ranking has risen in eight subject areas in the 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject.
